On The previous post done 23rd April 2014 on License Activation, I had recommended License Activation Tool (LAT) to be the tool used for keyplug license upgrades, LAT is a very simple to use tool and can be downloaded on the following link: http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/licensing/.
Upgrading a keyplug with Graphisoft online activation site may be necessary in cases where LAT has setbacks, e.g. LAT might freeze where the keyplug has MEP license(s) and/or LAT does not support a double byte/special character in windows log-in name, hence one might have to use upgrade.graphisoft.com, though this site has been known to pose a number of issues, for instance, giving messages like "something went wrong...". It is also fairly easy to get it to work.
The upgrade site only works with the latest installation of java (java 7 update 67) and the following settings should be adhered to in the java control panel (Mac and Windows) to make the upgrade site work
- Security Level has to be changed to medium
- The http://upgrade.graphisoft.com site has to be added to exception site list
- The license key with the available content should appear in the list
- Once the license key is programmed the security settings should be reset to default
