“I got my first taste of Archicad 10 in April 2008 when I attempted presentation drawings for a 60m2 energy efficient subsidy house. I had a week, 23rd April till the 30th April 2008, to complete such and was determined to do something. I remember not having access to any training program, only the reference guide and the telephonic assistance from Archicad. The program was user friendly enough to be able to figure out, with the help of some telephonic guidance, some basic steps to complete presentation drawings (plans, sections, elevations and perspectives) within that week. At that stage my perspectives were still hanging in the air but knew this was the beginning of an exciting journey through the 3D graphical world.
 
On the 15th May 2008 I started a new project on Archicad 11 with the aim of completing working drawings and presentation drawings for a 100m2 energy efficient non-subsidy house for the middle income group. I was now able to take my work a step further and with some figuring out and telephonic assistance from Archicad, was able to complete 2D and 3D drawings (working on and off) by the 11th June 2008. This time my perspectives were grounded with a blue sky.
 
What I found inspiring was the fact that without any formal training and some patience one can produce 2D and 3D drawings in a reasonable time period. It is the dream of any architectural profession to be able to complete drawings in a short a period as possible and think that Archicad has succeeded this quite well.”

"When we started the company 15 years ago, computer three-dimensional rendering as a form of presentation was in its infancy," remembers Allen. "We would prepare a two-dimensional black-and-white line drawing which I would take to the client. A small model, with corporate graphics applied to it, accompanied certain designs. Today we operate ArchiCAD 13, a 3-D architectural program. The sophistication of the program is so extensive that clients are continually amazed at how the final product is the exact replica of the presentation drawing. Perspectives look like a photograph."
