ArchiCAD 17 - New Feature: Curved Beam

Date: Monday, May 27, 2013

AC17_BOX_CAM1Use the Beam tool to create beams that are curved on a horizontal plane. Thus, beams can serve as support structures along curved walls. Such wall/beam intersections will automatically be correctly shown in sections (no need for solid element operations to represent them).

  • Curved beams can be modeled with a dedicated tool quickly and easily; no need for workarounds or combining other tools to achieve the same result
  • Consistent element creation and editing: Similar interactions are available for beams as for walls
  • Elements created with curved beams will automatically be exported correctly to structural programs; there is no need to re-classify them in IFC.
